Not bad for two years effort! Only 4 of the novels, 2 of the novellas and the middle grade had completed rough drafts before I published my first title: CLOCKWISE.
So what's next? Where am I headed going into 2014?
This was a question I wrestled with for more than a little while as I approached the completion of the Perception series.
With the soaring interest in New Adult and the continuing success of many romance genres, I decided to throw my hat into that ring.
I hear someone ask, "Aren't you just chasing trends?"
Maybe. But as an Indie Author, I'm allowed to chase trends because I can get a book out or a series of books out before the trend ends.
Someone else might ask, "Do you even like romance?"
That person obviously hasn't read any of my books. All my YA titles have very strong romantic threads, even if they're fantasy or sci-fi or historical.
"Are you going to write New Adult?"
This was a hard one for me because I know that my style as a writer doesn't fit the current popular formula for NA.
However, I've been reassured that NA just means twenty-somethings facing real life issues for the first time. So with that definition, yes, my new books will be NA - WARNING: There will be NO NEED for warnings.
"So WHAT's coming Elle, spit it out!"
